ABOUT ECO GRANT INITIATIVE

BOILERS
A new ‘A-Rated’ condensing boiler is a highly effective method to lower your energy bills and decrease household emissions, assisting Britain in reaching its net-zero carbon goal by 2050. If you or someone in your household qualifies under specific criteria, you may be eligible for a free ‘A-Rated’ condensing boiler.

CENTRAL HEATING
First Time Central Heating (FTCH) is accessible to anyone without a gas central heating system their home. Homeowners, tenants, and landlords who qualify may be eligible funding to install an ‘A-Rated’ gas boiler along with radiators, thermostatic valves, and smart heating controls. If you rely on electric heaters, gas fires, or have never had gas central heating, you might be eligible.

INSULATION
Home insulation measures are central to the government’s strategy for enhancing the UK’s housing quality and decreasing carbon emissions. This will be achieved through a comprehensive retrofit program that prioritizes an “insulation-first” methodology. Eco Grant provides three primary types of insulation solutions: Underfloor UFI, Loft, and Internal Wall IWI.
ECO4, or the Energy Company Obligation, is a UK government energy efficiency scheme designed to help low-income households and those living in inefficient homes improve their energy performance. It’s the fourth iteration of the ECO scheme, running from 2022 to 2026. ECO4 aims to reduce fuel poverty and carbon emissions by funding energy-saving home improvements.
Purpose
ECO4 is a government initiative aimed at tackling fuel poverty and reducing carbon emissions by improving the energy efficiency of homes.
Target Audience
The scheme primarily focuses on households with low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings (D or lower) and those receiving certain benefits.
Funding
Energy companies are obligated to fund energy-efficient upgrades for eligible homes.
Improvements
ECO4 can fund a range of measures, including insulation, heating upgrades (like new boilers or heat pumps), and solar panel installations.
Duration
ECO4 started in 2022 and is scheduled to run until March 31, 2026.
Benefits
ECO4 aims to make homes warmer, more energy-efficient, and cheaper to run, while also contributing to the UK’s net-zero goals.
How it works
Energy companies determine which projects to fund, the level of funding, and who carries out the work. There’s also an ECO Flex scheme for those not directly qualifying for ECO4 benefits but facing financial hardship.
